Centrally located on beautiful Lake Cypress Springs, about equal distance from the cities of Mount Vernon and Winnsboro. King's Country is a premier gated community, one of about 18 developments around Lake Cypress Springs.
Many thanks to all of our KC people who have donated so much to the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. Pam Buttrick and Claudia Barrett have a collection area in the clubhouse for school and office supplies to be sent to the Rockport area. And a very special thank you to Chris Guthrie, Tim Bazor, David Loschen and Jake Fisher. In early September, they loaded up a trailer with brisket, pork and fixin's and headed for Port Arthur. For the next two days, they treated hungry first responders to all the BBQ they could eat! In all, they fed over 1,000 people! And they did this out of their own pockets with some donations from their friends. Those are good hearts!
Thank you to everyone who has helped our neighbors to the south! You guys are incredible!
As you know, Asplundh has been trimming trees in KC. And per their agreement with Swepco, they leave the cut trees on the property, cut into 18" or less sections. There is quite a bit of cut wood all over King's Country! If you need wood for winter fires, you are welcome to pick up any of the wood that's left stacked up. Please only take the wood from the vacant lots, not near a house. There's a bunch of good hardwood out there!
Swepco will be in King's Country for the next 2-3 months performing line clearance around the power lines. They do this periodically to help keep lines and power poles clear of trees and brush that could cause a power outage. Keep watch out for Asplundh orange or white trucks in the area.
The Board of Directors meets monthly, on the 3rd Saturday of each month at 9am, in an open meeting to discuss and vote on various issues of importance to the property owners. A copy of the covenants and bylaws governing the subdivision are also available under Helpful Links.
